Tropical Low 02U to form off northern WA, with a Moderate risk of becoming a tropical cyclone early next week.

• A tropical low (02U) may form over waters northwest of the Kimberley coast or further to the west, either late this weekend or early next week.
• The most likely track is towards the west southwest, remaining well offshore of the Pilbara coast. There is a small chance it may move closer to the west Pilbara coast next Thursday or Friday.
• 02U has a Low risk of becoming a tropical cyclone from Sunday increasing to Moderate from Monday, with a gradual increase in risk over following days.
• The risk of impacts to coastal communities of the Pilbara and Kimberley will be monitored in coming days.

• A tropical low (05U) may form in the Timor Sea or Arafura Sea next week.
• If 05U forms, it will most likely track in a southwesterly direction. It should gradually develop if it remains over water.

A tropical low (05U) may form north of the Kimberley/NT and move southwest near WA coast later this week. TC risk increases to Moderate from Friday night.

• A tropical low (05U) may form in the Timor Sea or Arafura Sea in coming days.
• If 05U forms, it will likely track to the southwest near the coast and would develop if it remained over water, potentially into a small but significant system.
• At this stage there is considerable variation in possible outcomes. The risk of a tropical cyclone forming is rated as low from Tuesday to Thursday increasing to Moderate from late Friday and over the weekend..
• People in Kimberley and Pilbara coastal communities should stay up-to-date with the latest forecasts in case the threat increases.
